Description

This course is designed to “reverse engineer” the process, what documents are important and why they are important to reduce the risk of employee lawsuits. We will see what documents the law requires you to keep and in addition what records proactive employers should keep. We will use real live lawsuits where documents won or lost the day. Through it we will learn what needs to be retained and why the its importance.

From every phase is the employee work cycle, from before you hire until after termination there are records that must be kept. In addition there are records that you should keep that will help you in every phase of the employee work cycle3. From I-9s to job descriptions to annual performance reviews to ensuring your exempt from overtime employees are really exempt medical records to leave requests to medical records to records of hours worked and pay records, you will learn about what record to keep and they are critical.
